Road To Success Episode 25 Recap
Wanxing’s Past, Finally Explained
After visiting the cemetery, they walk the beach to clear their heads, and she finally opens up about what happened a year ago. She was falsely accused of seducing a married professor who later took his own life. Her parents pressure her to resign from the University to make the scandal disappear and to bring back some semblance of dignity.
She gets locked up in her room. At the time, her beloved grandfather is unwell and dying. She only finds out after he is cremated that he had passed. She is devastated to learn this and wonders what he must have thought of her for her past transgressions and why she neve visited him in hospital. Later her grandmother also passes from the stress of it all so Wanxing blames herself for that.
Wang Fa reassures her that a man who gave his life to free education would never have thought less of her for any of it.
The Kiss, Finally
This is the episode this whole slow burn has been building toward, and it lands beautifully. Sensing her sadness about her parentโs appearance, Wang Fa tells Wanxing he wants to give her an early birthday present. He takes her to an old, abandoned amusement park she used to visit as a child, one he only knew about from flipping through her grandparents’ photo album together.
Asking which ride was her favourite, she said the carousel. But due to long queues, she rarely had a chance to ride it. Wang Fa then disappears and just as she turns around, the carousel comes to life. Sheโs so excited and climbs on with Wang Fa watching on with happiness.
Afterward, he has a second gift, an origami frog. It’s a callback to the same drill the boys once did, narrowing a hundred wishes down to one, and it turns out Wang Fa quietly completed the exercise himself. Just when we all thought he was having a nap.
His list whittled down to just one wish he wanted the most. Wish number eight on his list: to be with her. He tells her he’s wanted to say this for a long time, that he really likes her, and asks her to consider being with him, no pressure to answer right away.
She responds by laying out every flaw she’s been hiding, secrets not revealed, insecurities, real financial limits, and he simply pulls her into a hug, telling her she’s wonderful exactly as she is, entitled to keep whatever she isn’t ready to share.
That’s when she tells him there’s no need to wait, and kisses him. Ah! What a beautiful, romantic setting. The kiss is warm and loving and thoroughly satisfying. Finally!
The next morning, the boys catch them mid-moment through a window. Well and truly an official couple now, Wang Fa is seen feeding her breakfast. The teasing from the boys that follows during training is so funny, Wang Fa stammering and flustered while the team piles on. \
Wen Chengye, notably, is the one who joins in the ribbing, a small, telling sign of how fully he’s settled into the group. Loving the coach and student dynamic here and the light-hearted banter between them all.
Her Parents, Handled
Wang Fa’s own father shows up unannounced, bodyguards in tow, and in a strange, pointed move, proposes marriage to Wanxing in front of her stunned, confused parents. Wang Fa steps in immediately to correct the record, they’re not together yet, though he is actively pursuing her, a pivotal moment stated plainly for the first time.
Wanxing tries to intervene but Wang Fa stops her and tells her to watch his father weaves his โmagicโ
When Wanxingโs father develops chest pains from all the chaos, Wang Faโs father rushes him to the hospital and admits him to the best ward and orders a whole host of tests to ensure heโs ok. Wang Faโs father becomes known as some of great wealth and influence, which Wanxingโs father is hoping to capitalise on.
Wang Faโs father helps him makes some business connections and offers to fly them first class back home. They accept the offer. And just like that, Wanxingโs parents leave.
The Team Shifts
Wen Chengye proposes a formation change, swapping into midfield and moving Fu Xinshu into a defence role instead, arguing it plays to both their actual strengths. The team pushes back at first, protective of Fu Xinshu’s usual position, but Wen Chengye’s case wins them over, and they vote it through.
Over coffee that afternoon, Fu Xinshu finally closes the loop on their childhood promise, handing Wen Chengye a proper pair of sneakers, the payback of the shoes he once gave him as a kid. Wen Chengye is thrilled he remembered, and in return, puts the Messi old keychain back on his own bag. Qin Ao teases Fu Xinshu about the gesture, and gets a genuinely warm response back, that caring about your teammates is simply allowed.
A Win
The team beats their opponent 1-0 with a goal in the 87th minute, advancing to the next stage.

Road To Success Episode 26 Recap
A Real Step Forward
After a night of celebration, Wanxing ends up drunk, and Wang Fa handles it with real care, tucking her into bed and cleaning up afterward. The next morning, he cooks lunch for her, and she jokes that all this looking after her is new territory for them, before handing over her house keys, a significant gesture in any relationship, and a sweet sign of how far they’ve come.
The Past Catches Up
That afternoon, an urgent weekend summons from the principal changes everything. Confronted directly about why she was expelled from university, it becomes clear the school now knows exactly what happened to her. She comes home withdrawn, brushing off Wang Fa’s attempts to check in, exhausted, and heads upstairs alone.
The next morning, he goes out to get breakfast, ready for the day, only to come back and find she’s already gone, a note left behind apologizing, no explanation beyond that she’s already left.
Lin Wanxing University Scandal Reveal
Ju Li gets a message too, and it becomes clear the news of Wanxing’s university scandal is spreading across the school forums. The boys go looking for her, but she’s nowhere on campus.
At an after-school meeting, Ju Li steps in as team manager in Wanxing’s absence. The boys, disheartened, question whether there’s any point continuing, feeling like the heart of the team just walked out. Wang Fa reminds them of the actual goal, they’re here to win, and the team agrees to keep going, holding onto hope she’ll be back before the season ends.
Wang Fa’s Guilt
Sitting alone on a rooftop, Wang Fa turns everything over in his mind, everything she’s carried silently, the false accusation, the expulsion, being locked away by her own parents, missing her grandfather’s final days, even quietly blaming herself for her grandmother’s death out of grief.
Through all of it, she kept showing up, kept smiling, while he spent that same stretch of time secretly suspecting and investigating her instead of trusting her. The guilt is overwhelming, and he doesn’t know how he’ll face her again.
The Search
His sister spots a lead placing her in Hanling, and Wang Fa and Yu Bo head out, checking every dog cafe in the area hoping to run into her, without success. Meanwhile, the team plays their next match without her and trashes the opponents, 6-0. The bus ride home is sombre, and the boys send her messages anyway, telling her how well they did, hoping she’s reading them somewhere.
Wang Fa remembers something she once said, talking with Qin Ao’s father about her own history with a father who never believed her either, that being disbelieved cuts deep enough to make continuing feel impossible sometimes. It clicks for him, painfully, exactly why she chose to run rather than face this fight head on.

Road To Success Episodes 25-26 Recap: My Thoughts
Episode 25: Twenty-five episodes in, and this payoff was worth every bit of the wait. The origami frog reveal is such a lovely, patient bit of writing, tying back to something planted so long ago it’s easy to forget it was ever set up at all. The carousel kiss earns its warmth by being tender rather than showy.
Lin Wanxing university scandal reveal finally coming to light adds real weight to everything we’ve watched her carry silently, and Wang Fa’s father turning out to be a secret weapon rather than an obstacle is a fun twist. Between the romance finally happening and Wen Chengye and Fu Xinshu’s friendship fully healing, this might be the most satisfying episode the show has delivered yet.
Episode 26: The house keys moment is such a lovely, understated milestone, and it makes the sudden gut punch of her disappearance right after hit even harder by contrast. Watching Wang Fa’s work through his own guilt, recognizing all the quiet strength it took her to keep showing up while he was secretly doubting her, is moving.
It reframes the whole earlier mystery arc with real emotional consequence rather than just plot resolution. The team’s convincing win without her feels earned too, proof of how much she’s become part of their foundation, not just an add-on to the coaching staff.
